Building permit granted: WV Energie AG moves pilot battery storage into delivery phase
WV Energie AG has received the building permit for its first Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at the WV solar park in the Wertachtal region, south of Augsburg. Following the initial award to Exide Group for delivery of 2× “Mega Three Solition” containers3.44 MW | 6.88 MWh) and turnkey EPC services, the project now advances into execution.
Close coordination – all critical topics resolved
In close collaboration with the Augsburg District Authority and specialist bodies, all key requirements were addressed:
- Noise control (immission and operational noise)
- AwSV compliance (handling of water-hazardous substances)
- Fire protection concept in coordination with the local fire brigade
- Plant layout, site access, operational & emergency procedures
This process has delivered a tangible capability boost for WV Energie AG in BESS permitting and delivery – expertise we will leverage across our growing project pipeline.
Next milestones
- Start of construction: October 2025 (groundworks and foundations)
- Commissioning: End of 2025
- Use cases: Renewables energy buffering & grid services (FCR/aFRR)

We look forward to connecting.
